Apprenticeships are an excellent way to gain valuable experience and qualifications in specific areas of a business. An apprenticeship provides a system for training in a trade or occupation, together with on-the-job training and college attendance, linked to theory and practical experiences. In most cases an apprenticeship means spending 80% of your time in the workplace and the rest of the time studying the theory behind what you are doing at work whilst attending college.
Our robust apprenticeship plan is part of our commitment to grow a skilled workforce who are up to date with the latest trends. The duration of apprenticeships varies significantly across the different departments within the business. In most cases employees who successfully complete an apprenticeship will be retained, this would be our preferred option.
We work with local schools and colleges including Gillingham School, The Gryphon School, Bridgwater College, Strode College, Yeovil College and more. Our apprentices and traineeships cover a range of career opportunities including: Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, CAD Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, Sales, and Marketing.
As part of our ongoing initiative to encourage apprenticeships we have recently joined The 5% Club ensuring at least 5% of our employees are completing some form of training courses.
