    Heinz Telford CIP System

Heinz Telford CIP System

Another Clean in Place (CIP) project has been completed by Sycamore Process Engineering. The successful delivery of a four tank, three channel CIP system for Kraft Heinz at their production facility in Telford. As the go-to experts for CIP systems in the dairy, food, and beverage industries we have been able to provide a fully automated, energy efficient CIP solution for Heinz Telford. The CIP system is being used to clean various process equipment utilised by Heinz to fill sachets with their sauces from their world famous 57 varieties.

Following numerous successful CIP projects completed across the dairy, food, and beverage industries the expert knowledge that is possessed within the business, from our in-house design and manufacturing teams to our project engineers and managers who deliver the project, ensures only the highest of quality/sustainable system will be installed for our customer.

An order was received in December 2020, no time was wasted with our in-house process and mechanical designers starting to work on the P&IDs of the CIP system which was completed in January 2021. Once the P&IDs were approved in February the conceptual layout was completed and agreed with the Heinz team, allowing manufacturing drawings to be started.

As part of the site survey, we were able to complete a 3D scan which has enabled our design team to design the CIP and physically place it into the location that Heinz allocated. This benefited the process as the team was able to risk assess all areas of the new system from complete installation through to future maintenance requirements.

Manufacture of the CIP system commenced in April 2021, with the distribution manifolds being the first components to enter the workshop. With the rest of the CIP system following through the production phases throughout the summer before heading to site in July 2021 after a pre-delivery inspection was carried out by Heinz.

One of the modules to leave our workshop measured at 12.5m long, 4.1m high, and 3.5m wide which was positioned by crane at the Heinz facility in Telford. This was one of the largest single CIP modules to leave our workshop which was installed throughout July and August alongside the accompanying skids.

The electrical installation of this project was completed by our chosen electrical partners, who worked with us on-site to ensure the process was smooth and the plant installation was completed according to the programme.

We look forward to working with Heinz using our world class CIP system which will benefit them for years to follow. Becoming the go to process engineering company for Heinz is exciting for us and we look forward to supporting them further with our project support package which includes spare parts and maintenance schedules, enhancing the life cycle of our systems.
