I am Joe Matthews, the Design Engineering Manager at Sycamore, I joined the team in October of 2013. I lead a multi-skilled team of Mechanical, Process and CAD Engineers. I organise and allocate workload across the team and support where needed with design reviews on projects, but most importantly I look to ensure the team have all they need to perform at the best of their abilities. I am always looking for ways to improve myself through personal and professional development. I attend training sessions and webinars on all aspects of my role from Design Review process training to more technical-focused sessions on heat pumps and the future of sustainable process solutions. My days are typically filled with a lot of meetings to keep on top of all the goings on across the business, such as resource planning and design reviews. The team at Sycamore have to be the best part of the job. Working with incredibly talented individuals who are great at what they do and are also able to have a laugh with on a daily basis! Outside of work, I am a keen skier (although not sure I get to go often enough to call it a hobby). I am also a cyclist and video gamer.
